There is only one tool you need for peace..

Meditating, view on Robben Island.
Meditating, view on Robben Island.

You want happiness? You want peace? Ask yourself: “Do I listen?”

Do you want it for yourself only or also for others?

Do you understand that your peace depends on the peace and happiness of others?

The greatest obstruction for peace and source of conflict is not to Listen!

Do you consider yourself in power? Do you consider yourself a person bearing responsibility?
Or are you just busy with what is yours and you don’t listen.

Leaders and politicians, do you understand that your are responsible for the happiness of all?

When will we listen and understand that it is the responsibility of each one of us.

But if our leaders don’t even give the example, how can they expect people to learn how to contribute to peace. Or do we Life in a world where the people that are paid to contribute to happiness and peace don’t listen anymore to the people suffering!

Do you recognise this?

Usurpers set themselves up as lords and kings, states run by pretenders and plotters set up armies to make themselves superpowers. Increasingly they imitated one another on this, and their posterity followed their example. Eventually the engulfed and destroyed each other, colluding with larger territories and annexing smaller territories, passing years in violent military operations, filling fields with bloodshed. Fathers and sons were nor secure with each other, brothers were not secure with each other, husbands and wives separated – no one could safeguard their Lives. Virtue disappeared…”

On my path of helping people and the study of conflict and peace, I stumble into the book of 2000 years old of Sun Tzu, “The Art of War”. I didn’t like the title… So it stayed in my library for many years without opening it.

In the book is a part about Confucius. The great humanist philosopher and educator who spent his Life working against the deterioration in human values that marked the fall of his society into centuries of conflict.

Very few people of the time listened to the pacifistic humanism of Confucius.

Some say they did not listen because they could not implement the policies advocated by Confucians; others say they could not implement the policies because they did not listen, because they did not really want to be humane and just.

There is a moment that Confucius left.

I guess because he knew that you can not force people to listen. You can just advice and write on peace. If it doesn’t get to them Life will teach them. Life always corrects what is wrong.

In Life you can trust.

By experience I lived that not only usurpers but in general, people in power, politicians don’t see themselves like wrongdoers when they consciously do things that don’t contribute to peace. Even when they did it unconsciously they will say after the facts: ‘I did not know’, ‘that was not me’ as if they were not suppose to know of that specific responsibility in power. What else are you doing there, in power, than to contribute to the welfare of all people and children and not only your own children…

How can their own children live in peace when the parents in power only were doing everything for their own children. What with the other children? You did maybe many good things but you created already a conflict for the next generation. And if you didn’t mean it that way, learn from your mistakes and be hard on yourself because the happiness of people lays in yours hands.

You are in power. So you are even more responsible to watch your words… and to Listen. Certainly to people suffering!

Africa, health is everywhere!

Nature provides everything for your health. Open your mind, connect with your heart, learn and share. Look how nature packed the seeds to protect them.

The education business, threat to peace!

Just reading in a book of 2013 that student debts in USA totals 800 billion $. More than the total credit card debt of all Americans.

Imagine! Education is a big business.

Combined with the fact that some people can pay and others not for education is social injustice and a cause of suffering!

Maybe they also will be taught that some people can pay for clean air, clean water and others not.

How can you expect peace by creating stress and differences from childhood.

I never understood why people have to brag about the education they got or the school they went to.

While, to be humble and compassionate, one of the important qualities in Life, is NOT teached in most expensive private schools. On the contrary!

And imagine students going for loans to pay to learn to contribute to a business system, not to Life.

Poor dangerous minds.

Do you care about Life? Do you Love?

Love Life Now to see Peace inside and outside!

Life is not easy these days. That is what I use to think in situations like the last days, the last months, maybe the last years.
Why I think that? A friend of me told me on Skype: “Maybe in the past you earned money easily?”

The answer was ‘Yes’. Though I even was not satisfied then, I realize I earned money easy in the past compared to now. But I still wanted so many things… There was nothing really impossible to me. If I had a focus or new idea. I had fun with it and I earned with it.

In Africa people still know the value of most elementary things in Life. Water and food. They need still to learn about the value of clean air 😉 Because it is normal to them. But pollution is becoming a problem in major cities. Better to educate and prevent. Pollution is a form of disrespect for nature by the human mind.

Lets not forget about Love! What are we without Love? Because also in Africa, people forget Love once they step in trap of money and western materialism. Once they make it to the top a lot of ‘big men’ forget Love! It is sad, very sad. Who are you as a person when you can only make yourself and ‘your’ crowd happy. Why does it always have to be ‘yours’ and ‘ours’?

How many business people talk about Love. Is Love a taboe in business? Does it have to be?

We are all one. Love connects us all. Om! This is my mantra.
In Nature and in Life there is no ‘mine’, ‘yours’ or ‘ours’. Ego is in our mind.

Now I am in Burundi. This year there is a problem here with the rain too, though at the moment of this post, the rain is pouring down. Olé!

When exactly Life is easier? When we have more money? We tend to feel like that.

Life is never easy or not easy or bad. Life is Life!

We, ourselves, we feel good or bad, we judge a situation as good or bad.

So, when you see Life as good, you are already feeling changes. So it is a mindset.

Burundi is now considered as one of the poorest countries in the world, if not the poorest. Burundi is also considered as very corrupt. It is in the top ‘NO GO’ countries in the world.

This is how you will perceive this country if you look from outside. This is what you are told.

This is what the ‘official’ records say. This is what you will see if you don’t look from inside.

People are living here! This is not another planet!

When you learn to look from inside, from an open heart, you live in the now.

When I look outside I see soldiers, I see poverty. Looking with my heart I see soldiers that say Hello to me with a genuine smile! They are people, human beings just like you and me.
I see one of the most beautiful places. I see flowers. I see hippos in the lake. I see children play.

Looking from the heart has nothing to do with being naive or not realistic! It is a different view and mindset.

I don’t care if people clothes are secondhand. They are people trying to make it to the next day, in the best and happiest way possible. In their eyes I see more strength and happiness than I saw in the eyes of most western people. They have less and share more!

I am filled with gratitude that, though money is not there anymore or not coming anymore as it used to come. Yes I am so grateful that in Africa, I learned to look with other glasses at Life, at people. Western society is spoiled and too complex. There are no problems or rules and systems are invented in the West. If you are creative you are forced to contribute. Helping can not come from the heart anymore. You help because you have to. What exactly you contribute to? As if by rules you solve problems, as if by rules you can control Life. This is Mental poverty. Mental poverty is when a person is not humble anymore and things s/he has to and wants to control Life, Nature! It is the worst poverty.

Sometimes, in Western society, a stand still is created, mostly on ‘SUN’-days (timed and organized, not natural) to make people reflect about Life. After that day, the rush and problems continue without changing their view or habits. The Western Mind is addicted to problems. Unconsciously, it likes to see Life as a problem. If these minds could, they would work very hard to pay for systems to solve the problem of Life!

Yes, Life is hard these days. I learn even more now than when everything was so easy and I always got what I wanted and I was dreaming of.

I don’t hope, I don’t wish for better times. Hope is a cheater if you don’t understand the real meaning of hope. False hope blocks you form accepting what is now. False hope makes you expect what maybe will never come. The truth is, that there is never better than NOW, this moment. If I am not happy now and I don’t see the beauty of Life NOW, I will never see it! Because also maybe, there won’t be a tomorrow. Is this a negative view? No, totally not. It makes you see the best NOW!

Maybe that is why I am at LaMaison’Espoir’.com, to understand that ‘Espoir’ doesn’t mean that you expect things to be better in the future, but to be happy now and to do things now that are under your control, hoping that the change you want or desire for the god of everybody, will come. To accept, what is not under your control.

Today I wasn’t feeling so OK. I went to chat with the ‘Espoir’ team and I made the joke that after chatting, I had ‘Espoir’ again. So I was going to write about ‘Espoir’. Writing this text I realized, Life is always fine right NOW, only my mind sometimes doesn’t agree 😉
